I start taking my decorations down in the days after 2nd Jan but usually leave a few bits up until 5th of January, the evening of which, I (and the Church of England) consider to be Twelfth night. It seems logical to me that Christmas Day is the first Day of Christmas, and twelfth night is the last evening before Epiphany. It doesn't make any sense to me to start counting from Boxing Day but I know lots of people believe that it is the night of Epiphany is 12th night and you hear both dates used

Not sure if you have now sorted out your garden lighting yet I've only just come across your question! Love Jens bike storage and it ticks another box since if you keep herbs up there they will get even more sun and easier not to forget to water them. Think you can create a little courtyard effect in your space and it will be fab. I can’t post pics but I’ve just saved a pic to my ideabook called DISCUSSION that shows an incredible simple “pergola” that would probable span the depth of your space. If you did this it would create something for the eye to look up to and take away focus from fence being close. And it would be something to attach solar lanterns to or hanging herb baskets or decorating bunting for birthday parties even. Plus you could train a climber up it without risking the climber taking over and blocking too much light as it might with a normal pergola. Anyhow just an idea!

Because the tables you have either side of the bed are different and with the mirror being set to one side, you really need to go with an 'offset' look to this room. Is there any particular reason you have bought the string lights ? Is it for extra light or just for decoration ? Could you paint the back wall to bring it together...
