Hi. Thanks for your reply, we are using this room as our new living room. I don’t want spotlight in here really and there will be no dining table lol. I’m stuck deciding on one large pendant in between the windows towards the top end of them, or 3 smaller ones more along the higher bit of the ceiling above the windows.

haha yeah totally get that most 1.2m battens look a bit “office strip light” vibe 😅 If you want something nicer, check out linear pendants. Brands like Astro or John Cullen have some stylish options just keep in mind: most don’t have built-in sensors, so you'd need a separate microwave sensor or use smart bulbs + motion sensor. If you’re limited to one light point and need full coverage + auto-on, a good-looking batten or profile light with a sensor is still the most practical option

Is it possible to look at the layout of your kitchen so we can further check and recommend the best layout? Having the undercabinet lighting for the task/countertop is a good choice btw.
