Thankyou! We are sleeping here first night tonight so need curtains up today!!! I hadn't planned on sleeping here yet but my hubby told our kids and now no going back!!!! So I'm about to drive to a big next about 7 miles away ... Hope they have something?!?! Unfortunately the nearest dunelm is too far !

It's all personal preference but if it was me I'd say no, red and black are not the best colours together and I'd be looking for an alternative colour. If you are looking for advice on arrangement, for aesthetics it might look better to have a plain behind a patterned but in practical terms they should just be positioned wherever is most comfortable.

Lovely sofa but definitely wouldn't recommend to buy corner sofa in the room like yours. If you want to have something comfortable for your feet, get foot stool and move it closer to sofa when you need it. But on daily basis corner sofa will block free flow within a room, especially when you enter the room, it will not look right and in time will not feel right.

Hi I really love your room it has a great vibe! I would probably say as you already have a rug framing the sofa area, that adding one in such close proximity will drawer your eye away from the focus point of the room (the sofa), however the fact that the cow hide rug is so different in terms of shape and texture - you might get away with it as a nice splash of personality! (which is what I think you are also trying to add?!) The table area does feel like it needs something to lift it - if you are nervous about going ahead with the rug could you do this by using different coloured seat cushions, or a statement centrepiece such as a plant in an interesting pot?
