Comments (6)Our kitchens are not just a place we find comfort in cooking to unwind, and of course where a lot of us eat, it is a place we often choose to entertain and socialise. Our kitchens can be our public display of our style tastes, and one of the pleasures we get from this is that 'WOW!' we get from visitors. You have painted a clear image of your kitchen, and I can imagine it looks amazing. Modern, Chic, and stylishly put together, to get a clean, strong statement about your positive, and strong personality. Dramatic shades of Grey and Charcoal are important role players in a monochromatic scheme, with a bold accent feature (Red). Similar to other neutrals they can be really varied, for instance some greys can add a real sense of depth to a small area of a space, allowing the other elements around it to 'pop'. Greys and charcoals also work extremely well in areas that are uses a lot during evenings, with the correct lighting they can help set a mood to create a foundation for your theme, to give you a real stand out wow! Using a paint that is matt will compliment the light properties of the glitzy worktops by contrast, creating a lux-contemporary feel to the space. I have given a couple of examples for an idea book below. I hope this was helpful, please contact me if you would like to chat about your design dilemma some more, and please give us a review. Comments (20)peggysue67 Yes the views are very nice, trees and open countryside, the odd sheep dotted about! Good thought on window size, and blinds which I also like. I thought about glazing the whole area between patio doors and master bedroom above but I am trying to keep costs down really. Thanks for your input :)...See Morekitchen cheap cheer up - help plea
Comments (7)Projection architects- thank you for the picture it definitely helps! It’s actually really nice seeing it full scale. When did a cheap lick of paint to freshen up become so complicated ?lol! The roof will definitely be white. Do you think a grey would work? My head says green is the best choice but am open to suggestions...See MoreNeed some serious garden advice!
Comments (20)I don't know -- it looks like quite a big drop front-to-back to me. Our garden dropped a lot less than that and I still found that terracing has opened up the whole thing to a much wider range of uses because now there are three properly flat areas instead of one continuously falling one. Regardless of that, I would also at least consider: 1) moving the drying pole -- it sits front-and-centre when you presumably want people to be looking at the garden... a retractable line would free up space and get out of the way when not in use; 2) doing away with the linear gravel borders... keep gravel borders if you like them by all means but they emphasise the wrong thing at the moment (we did away with narrow, linear flower beds down the sides in our garden and that has also helped a lot by making things a bit more intriguing for the eye). Although you and I could never afford it in full, there were a couple of good episodes of "Your Garden Made Perfect" for gardens on a slope (one on a proper slope) that you could maybe crib ideas from. Or there's always Monty Don's stuff on the iPlayer too (I think it was Big Dreams, Small Spaces) which is much more budget-friendly but also has a fair few interesting ideas for me at least....See More- 13 years ago
