Gone through all the comments thanks and some definite themes. Will definitely de-clutter workshops where I can and put some plants in. Will clear top of the fridge too. Like the idea of painting the whole room red - it's a lot of wall as big area so worry it will look too dark. Will try out some tester samples. Saw the attached and that looked good I personally love an olive green but just doesn't match accessories and costly to buy them all again. All our dinner set is also red too so hard to get away from! Will also look into large artwork as I know it needs that - just finding the right piece!

We love the handle-less Kitchen look! Our own office kitchen has it, getting very popular now! Only issue is depending on the material you are using for the cabinets you may be able to see fingerprints/marks, however there are ways to work around this!

The 2nd picture celerygirl posted is beautiful. You could also consider a small flat-weave rug to break up the beige floor a bit. Something small enough that it can go in the washing machine when needed. I also agree with cazsf that removing the single cupboard above the peninsula would make the space look better. Thanks Jonathan. Not sure I can cluster the units now as the ducting for my hob has gone down under the floor and so my island now has to be placed centrally to the back wall. This may look odd if cluster the tall units? Agree with the 500 option thou. I need to see if they come as standard from my kitchen supplier. Do you think a 3m island will be too large in front of this run? Thanks Lara
