Hi, I'd certainly get a couple of really cheap mirrors first to see if you like the affect but personally I don't think it will look odd, just adds to the drama. Just had a quick browse on Argos, something simple like these might work: http://www.argos.co.uk/product/6233541 http://www.argos.co.uk/product/4023557 http://www.argos.co.uk/product/4025610 If you decide to ditch the mirrors idea then I think something else reflective in the room would look good to complement the clock. Maybe a mirrored trinket box on the drawers.

Are the hands fixed or do they move? If they are easily removed it should be fairly easy. You can buy battery powered quartz clock mechanisms in craft shops or eBay. Go for one with a high torque motor and get a set of hands to fit the motor. You may be able to modify the existing ones to fit, but it probably won't be easy and if they are too heavy or too thick would not work with the battery mechanism. If the existing hands are fixed ( welded on) it's more work, not impossible but probably easier to buy a different clock

Hi. That’s a lot of stuff to store in a small space:) but not impossible. I too think a floor to ceiling cabinet would be good for storing a lot of things. I’m thinking a half cabinet on the left with a clothes rail for coats on the right. Then underneath the clothes rail coming out at a right angle a narrow bench or even a box with lift up lid for shoes. Hard to explain so did a (very rough) sketch (see pic below).
