cushions for sofa - suggestions please!
Comments (7)If you're after orange then personally I'd team it with some pale/sky blue, it works really well with both orange and gold. I'm a big fan of navy but you'd definitely need a rug to carry it off. Do you have anything else in the room? I was after navy geometric/moroccan cushions and was struggling so bought this throw from John Lewis for a bargain £49! Do you have a picture of any cushions you like as a guide even if they're the wrong Colour?...See MoreLow maintenance plant suggestions please!
Comments (5)Cacti and succulants need little care. Echiveria are an attractive choice. Spider plants are virtually unkillable. If you buy from a garden centre rather than a bring-and-buy sale you'll get more modern varieties which are more compact and stay looking good rather than the stringy older varieties. Cane type begonias - particularly Angel's Wing begonias. My mum had one she didn't actually like and would put it in the porch and stop watering it for months, and it would respond by putting out flowers. That plant survived several years of deliberate neglect before it was finally killed by leaving out over winter. Dibleys nursery is a good place to buy these. All plant suggestions courtesy of my mother, who neglects her house plants like you wouldn't believe. My suggestions for care: Beware over watering. I've heard that more house plants die from over watering than underwatering, and I believe it. You check if the plant needs watering by picking it up, and water if it feels too light. Or you can set a reminder on your phone and water all plants once a week (except in very hot weather). The plants I've recommended all cope with being dry....See MoreRug suggestion. Comments (11)Hi Minnie, TV is work in progress...blame the OH, we can never agree! The unit is awaiting the sale room reopening though. Wall mounted or tv media unit will be needed. When I first planned the room with help on here, there was the suggestion of a unit to run under the tv and under the window. It looked fab. The sofa can’t move forward as there is a door which it would block. It isn’t really a problem as their are usually just the two of us, if we have visitors we are either in another room or position ourselves on the sofas to chat. The occasional chair is useful for being able to see others and we do move that around or sit it out of the corner. We have some art, black framed but black and white. The vintage chair is proving elusive but could be yet another neutral! With all of this you can see my definite reluctance to commit to a colour scheme. I suppose that’s where the idea of black and neutral rugs came from. Any suggestions welcome. Relieve my indecision!😂...See More- 10 years ago
