Hi Jane, Thank you so much for your thoughts. I've also been discussing this with quite a few people - everyone thinks I should keep the range and do my best to refurbish it. So, my plan now is to speak to more local antique dealers to see if they have missing pieces to help me build this back together. I've also spoken to a fantastic place in England called Antique Fireplaces & Ranges (http://www.antiquefireplacesandranges.com/) and they've given me tips on how I can clean and bring out the beauty in this piece with some iron paste called Black Lead. They also suggested making the missing pieces (if they cannot be sourced) with a local theatrical company that makes props for sets. This is a very reasonable idea given that I never intend to use the range other than as a feature piece. Thanks again, Jane and have a Happy New Year!

very nice kitchen indeed. and I can see that you already have lots of storage .So here is an idea for a little breakfast/chat area.( long worktop - bar on the steel legs could be a better option than a heavy square table) We all know that most of our guest always ending up in the kitchen for a friendly chat :-) I would add a little free standing -side cabinet (on the left side of the image) for a handy glasses snack etc... it is just a quick draft ;-)

I think there are a fair few options here so you are probably best looking for a layout package with a concept planner who can give you a few options for space - giving you some options to consider and to see what is possible. When I create these, I use your plans to create 2D and then 3D plans so you can get a real feel for space - it's often much easier to understand the space in 3D. For me personally, I would start by moving the bedroom door into the hallway, so the bedrooms entrances are opposite each other. I would add the door to the open-plan space ( as above) opposite the main front door to maximise those spaces and keep the bedroom area contained. You could then increase the bathroom slightly to add a shower in and create an open plan area with the rest. Or you could move the bathroom entirely to then keep the larger open plan area looking on to the patio. As concept planners, I usually look at a lot of detail to create your plans - for example how big does your kitchen need to be? what is missing from the bathroom now? Where does the plumbing run and what walls can be removed? How do you use the space? We look at all this and more to enable us to design three layouts for your space that work for you with your budget and with the property. Best of luck.

I think Inchyra would look lovely with your grey sofa, as would any of the navy’s. It’s quite dark so you may want to try it as a feature wall first.
