Thank you Isla :-) My thoughts were: 1 - leave it as you suggest.... once the room is decorated and furnished we won't notice the alignments or.... 2 - move the far pendant so it is aligned with the front one, which would then be roughly centred between the beams either side of it.... or... 3 - move the rear pendant so it is properly centred between the beams either side of it, and nudge the front one slightly to the left so it is aligned with the rear one Any thoughts on options two or three... if you have another moment...? Or you still think leave each one centred to its space? I do agree we won't notice it so much once the space is lived in.... Thanks again!

You could consider a suspended bar light. This way it would provide a strip of subtle light but in a very modern way. It's also a better look than the prescriptive 3 pendants. This is the only example I can find right now but there are loads of them for all sorts of prices.
