Hi Laura, I fancy black furniture too. Do you have to buy a set? If not, you could easily buy a functional and cheap vintage dressing table and then paint it black?

I have recently done my bedroom in a pale grey, white king bed, black bedside cabinets that I painted myself, dark grey chest of drawers & a pale blue buttoned boudoir chair (painted the legs black), white bed linen with some silver & grey throws, silver cushions & it looks great (even if I say so myself !). Look on furniture stores online & ebay as you can definitely get bedroom furniture cheaper. the Wayfair site is good, Scoutaboutinteriors has some nice things. You can always paint things yourself as I got my bedside cabinets as seconds as slightly damaged but liked the shape so painted them. The grey you are looking at for the paint is lovely & I would do a mixture of black & white furniture. I just bought a console table as I liked the shape & painted that as well - it's really easy.

I think the black is too dark with the paint colour on the wall. Have you considered mirrored furniture? Buying second hand and painting is also a good option but I would paint in a light grey. If you want black then bring it in with accents like throws or cushions on the bed or lampshades (unless you read in bed then white is better). Best of luck with it!!

You could also try Colortrend Genesis, there is no teal in that. My photos here are a bit dark because they turned the lights off when they took the pictures. It looks blue in some lights and grey in others.

With a dark palette what really works beautifully is wood.. Dark cherry woods, rich mahogany and walnut.. Also tan leathers... : ))
