I'm afraid in order to answer your question further information is required, such as positioning of doors/windows, and what outdoor pursuits you engage in.

There are 2 doors, one external, one internal positioned either end of the room 1m in of the 3267. The external has a small adjacent window taking up 1.6m space. There is a 900 x 1200 shower in one corner. I have 2 washing machines and 1 tumble dryer. I have a lab and so there are lots of muddy walks! Thank you for your interest.

Thanks Jason for your advice. What a good idea to stack the washing machine and dryer. The shower will be dual use, so the shower is full height - but the dog will be the primary user! I'm never sure about the upside down wellie rack. I experienced one at a holiday let and mud and water would drip down on to my hand/arm. I like the coat hooks above a bench seat, so useful to tie laces etc. Do you have any thoughts on flooring? I see Houzz contributors use rubber a lot. I will have underfloor heating.

sorry hbutchart I missed your post. rubber flooring could be a good idea from a safety wet area point of view but it could look a little 'commercial' but again the right product and colour can look great. I would also check how this type of flooring would work with underfloor heating. If you sont use rubber either ceramic tiles or vinyl tiles would be perfect the vinyl tiles come in many styles concrete, slate and wood effects habe a look at Expona on line its a great product.

Yes Fushion, I was concerned about the 'commercial' look...hospital bathrooms! I have looked at the Expona website, which I'd never heard of, and looks as if it could fit the bill. Thank you.

and just one other thing regarding your flooring, you may need a temperature sensitive adhesive because of your underfloor heating but your flooring suppliers should advise you on that.

Cool, Contemporary boot storage

Hi there

So a while ago we produced a great boot room for a client, we used a white laminate for the interior as its really easy to clean and maintain, and we clad the faces in a solid limed oak, to give it that chunky feel.

I think this works really well because we tailored the box sizes to the requirements of what was being stored, boots trainers etc... opposite is a cool coat rack and bench that lifts up.

Goldman and Rankin thank you for the photo and description. Laminate an excellent idea with a finish that I could match in with the rest of the utility room. Think I need to count my family's outdoor shoes/boots, add a few for visitors and then will get an idea of how many cubby holes I'll need. How deep did you make the boxes?
