I love the fixture you chose it's just gorgeous. I would paint the walls a darker color maybe a grey/beige to keep with the tradition of the home and tile. If you could update the shower to a seamless glass I think that would be just lovely!

Whoops just saw the walls are tile! Add a roman shade for some texture :)

Update your shower and sink something like these

I have a very similar bathroom cabinet in my kitchen, I love it and it's so practical with the shaver socket concealed inside and the motion sensitive light switch on the side, however, I see where you're coming from with your concern over whether it is too much of a style contrast with your light fitting. I like the mirror in Andrea's suggestion.

The problem that we have is storage in the bathroom plus finding wall lights that would be a better match with the ceiling light. We are in England so have less choice than in the US. the mirror cabinet gives me storage and light. i am happy to have a separate mirror and wall lights but its finding wall lights that will go with the ceiling light that is causing me a problem. i will then need a storage cabinet of some sort too which would probably need to go above the toilet?

I have a new sink and toilet being fitted and a frameless shower enclosure.

Can you post pictures of the new shower, toilet and sink too? Are the travertine tiles going everywhere you currently have square white tiles?

What's the opinion on these wall lights? Would they go with the ceiling light? With a mirror like this (although hung portrait rather than landscape).

Thoughts for storage?

Yes the plan is for the tiles to go everywhere (mainly because we don't trust the state of the walls behind!)

This is the sink. Very boring. We are still toying with the idea of keeping the one that's in there.

I think the mirror would work, not so sure about the lights. How about these ones I have pictured below? Both are available at a reasonable price from litecraft.co.uk, the two ended one would look better hung vertically.

Just one word of warning on the bathroom cabinet with LED lights, the light they give out is very blue in colour, and not very flattering when doing make-up, but the heated mirror that doesn't fog up is brilliant!

On the storage front, would the basin you have ordered work with a vanity unit underneath? They provide lots of storage and can look quite smart if you choose carefully. If you have enough wall space, wall-hung units can look nice and snappy. Or something like:

Really like those lights. They seem a much better fit.

Nice shower - is it too late to change your mind and go for a squarer design for the basin for a more deco look? Something like this?

I would love a vanity unit but over here most of them are very modern or else prohibitively expensive. I have trawled the Internet but not found anything suitable for less than about £800 which is unfortunately going to push it over budget.

Love the mirrored cabinet (and the store is in my home town!) but not too sure where I would fit it in.

With a lovely light like that, I would have gone for black and white or green tiles instead of the travertine. It's a shame, I just sold some gorgeous tiles that would have gone with your look! Here's my nearly-finished en suite bathroom.

I am going for colour in our en suite bathroom which is the next one on the list and so will keep a look out for green tiles.

This bathroom is our main bathroom but all bedrooms have en suites and so it will really only be used for visitors. As a result I've tried to do it on the cheap whilst trying to keep it looking up market enough to reflect the fact that its a million pound house. It's not been easy trying to balance the two!

We have a small town home and in our daughters bathroom I put a tall cabinet for storage with baskets and rolled towels. It provides so much storage an looks beautiful at the same time. For your sconces I really love that one with the shade. It adds some texture.

Ok back to this bathroom. I am still considering the bathroom cabinet. I don't have room for anything free standing. What is the opinion on this cabinet and these wall lights? Are the lights too much with the chandelier? Do I need a rectangular cabinet with those wall lights if I went for them?

Love the wall lights- I think they'll look great with the ceiling shade you already have. the mirror is nice, and better than the one above, but I think you could do better. (the nice square angles in your wall lmap I think need a more angular mirror) I think I saw on Victoria plumb last week a mirror cabinet that was rectangular, and a little more art deco feel. Check out VP and maybe bath store? Another option in the UK is ebay- I keep being surprised by what I find on there!
