Modern plaster dries pretty quick especially in warm weather. I think if you keep a window open in the bedroom if it’s not too cold to get rid of the smell, I think you should be okay?

 Try putting the bed facing that lovely view from the window , then work everything else around that. Bring the outside in as inspiration for your colour scheme.

It is an odd shaped space but I actually think it has a lot of potential once you add some more textures to it. I personally would put a rug coming out from under the bed which would make the room feel softer and give the illusion it is longer/bigger. For the awkward corner I actually think just a plant would fill it perfectly. If you put a tall plant in a nice pot in the corner it would make the room feel a lot more homely and add some colour. - Or you could put a standing lamp in the corner. I think the space just needs a lot of soft furnishings and some colour to stop it looking so clinical! It is quite a harsh space and the strange corner definitely doesn't help but I think with more textures it could actually be very homely.
