Rag and Bone Man (Person)! I grew up in a house that was kept so tidy and on a trip to London I saw a Rag & Bone man out collecting other people's junk. I though 'what a wonderful job, collecting rubbish and never having to clean or tidy my room'. My Mum was not impressed.

For info - a Rag & Bone man was someone who travelled round the streets buying or collecting items the residents didn't want.

Making rooms look lovely. I had the prettiest bedroom at 10 all lavender net and bows. Dreadful to think of it now. Happy days

I can see what you're saying darleen, but this would never work for my kids. It is a nice idea to help learn to share though... I have 4 year old who sleeps (mostly!) well and has been in his own room since 6 months, and in a single bed since his second birthday. And 2yr old whose bedroom opens off this one, who wakes at the slightest noise every time!! He's never been a good sleeper :(.. still in a cot due to how many times he'd be jumping out of a bed in the night. I guess it depends on your kids temperaments Matthew, I would say they are still young so could train to sleep ok in the same room, you could bear the option in mind for when they get a little older and need their own space. That said, I shared bedrooms with my sisters most of my life and boy, did I love my own space when I got it!!!

I agree! As it is not always feasible to install real timber or stone, Karndean is the best vinyl option. I am going to have 36sqm of it installed in my own place. I have direct contacts with the manufacturers here in the UK. If anyone is interested, please inbox me and will get you in touch.

It depends what stage in life you are at...my tiny Covent Garden flat was perfect pre- kids...then moved to suburbs/country...house with 7.5 acres..youngest now aged 19.. don't need a big garden.. dream of a city penthouse and a carefree lifestyle again! Don't wish for a mansion...even a beautifully refurbished place...very isolating.

shed (brick built & a bit damp) = garden tools, greenhouse = tomatoes, peppers & a grape vine, workshop = man cave, garage = storage, summerhouse = chairs to sit with a glass of wine & a good book. :) we're very fortunate to have all of these.

A cartoonist...as an only child I loved spending time on my own watching and copying Walt Disney cartoons, then Pixar came about rendering the pen and paper and oil paint romance of it obsolete causing it all to become too cold and technical for me.

I wanted to be a make up artist for birthmarks then go in for theatrical make up . I was advised to do a local hairdressing course first , but was hopeless at it . Just drifted after that ! Have been a private cleaner for years , but still hanker for a camoflague make up career.

Throughout childhood, I always wanted a life in Law. It's complexities and many facets always interested me & when I studied for my LLB I enjoyed every moment of it.
