Need wall decor advice
Comments (11)Have you considered painting the brick a pale white/grey? I know that's not art work but your eye instantly goes to the brick rather than the kitchen and it would make it easier to bring contemporary art work in. There are lots of affordable art galleries on line and even on the high street now. Alternatively contact your local collage/university and ask about exhibitions....See MoreDecorating with bold colours. Advice needed.
Comments (26)kevnick80 I am trying to find the right intense blue. I've currently used Sanderson's Sea Blue but the one I wish I had used, and which I found after I'd painted the room, is Abigail Aherne's Bowery Blue. I've put a spread of it on a wall, next to a spread of the one I've used to compare them, and it's richer but brighter and very intense. I will paint over the Sanderson one as soon as I've got the energy. Here's the Bowery Blue - if you put your cursor on the paint colour you see it with good lighting which is, of course, important with dark colours; mirrors make a difference, too: https://abigailahern.com/search?q=bowery+blue...See MoreI am in the process of decorating a new bedroom! Comments (2)We vote white bedside tables with vintage handles ... Amazon is cheap, cheerful and full of options. It's a little effort, but will add a lovely finishing touch to the room!...See Morespare room decoration advice needed!
Comments (5)If you get lots of light then something quite funky or vibrant would be lovely. It's easy to end up just having a bland box as the spare room. I would go with either modern classic ie a rich deep feature wall with lots of soft furnishings and textures would make it feel luxurious and cosy. Mirrors to bounce the light around - maybe some metallics in there. Nothing too pale though. ie you could do a navy blue with white accents and beige/neutral textured throws - or Deep greys with soft nude/pinks so it's not too girly. OR Pattern in a theme (always love the tropical look!) with lots of colour and make it more fun/humorous. As you say, you don't need lots of storage space so a small hanging area for clothes, small vanity and chair is all you need. I would otherwise just look through some small bedroom decor ideas on here and just save any that really stand out at you for inspiration....See More- 10 years ago
