Window covering

I live in a 1930's semi. The living room and dining are open plan, narrow and long. The dining room is at the front has bay windows, the living room half has large patio doors opening into the garden.

I've just had thick, white wooden Venetian blinds fitted to the bay window, but I don't know what to put on the large patio Windows as its one whole room, I want it to flow.

we are not overlooked in the garden however I'd like some covering at night.

Hi Farveena,

I would opt for a light dimout fabric so it keeps the open and flowing feel through the two rooms but will still offer privacy at night. The Natural Linen fabric below is a lovely neutral tone to match most decor but take a look at our

for full colours and patterns.

Hi Am following this thread with interest - I have windows like this throughout my house and am finding it really difficult to decide on suitable treatments. On the upside it means the house always looks light and airy! We currently have a series of temporary roller blinds downstairs which work pretty well, but in the bedrooms we have curtains - although they now cover the radiators so not keen as a long term solution. Would also like to have blackout in the two main bedrooms. Does anyone know if extra wide roman blinds are available anywhere? We'd like an unfussy look. Suggestions and pics most welcome. Thanks.

See what you mean if you're overlooked from the park. Are you able to take a photo of the whole wall to get an idea of scale etc? If I was just thinking of if it's more about nighttime privacy rather than filtering out the sun, would curtains either end of the space be possible, or to draw across all of the windows at night? perhaps with a box pelmet the same colour as the wall so you don't have an obvious curtain rod / track drawing the eye when curtains are open. I suppose me thinking curtains rather than blinds is because those three vertical windows are a lovely feature and it would be a shame ruining the clean lines of them with blinds. But if curtains could be pulled across the whole lot a night it could work really well?

Hey Tara How about some shutters? You can have these installed into the recessed so the thickness of the shutter itself is about 2cm, which will open and sit against the wall, with no obstruction to your view, but will provide complete blackout when closed. (Lots of example on Pinterest.) Another option may be to have full floor to ceiling length curtains on a runner, this would look fab and really elevate the window. Something to think about! cordless conservatory blinds - look super clean and modern, come in lovely range of colours, no need for curtains, good for heat retention and you can pull them down from the top or pull them up from the bottom - the choice is yours, we have some in our house and love them
