Well done for being so brave! We've recently covered statement sofas (a huge interior designer trend) and their power in a space. We love the way Helen Green Design used a blue sofa in a space we covered in our article on living room colour schemes. You can go bold and eclectic with intense block colours or more tonal with intense inky blues and slate greys and accessorise with warm mustard. As has been mentioned, it's quite Mid-century in style so some contrasting abstract art would look incredible (maybe something like this). You might have to do a bit of colour consideration because this azure blue isn't as simple to work with as a neutral but the results will be worth it.

A white or grey corner unit would look great. Unfortunately a lot of the ones available on the high street are quite slim and I think wider would be better for you. You may consider having one built.
