Using contrasting piping or two fabrics can always look smart and will not date. Otherwise, you could just use a strong colour and add an interesting cushion if necessary. This would give you the opportunity to then bring another colour into the room. Otherwise if you wanted to go for a pattern, the one you suggested would certainly bring in the lime green, but might look a bit too spotty...? I selected the tartan fabric because as a professional I can see it will make the stud details on the top of each leg much more noticeable and also work well with the buttoning effect on the seatback.

Hi, These dining chairs have a very country feel to them- depending on the rest of your furniture and colour scheme, a fabric with a linen look and soft colour would work well with the wooden textures we can see in your picture. Looks like a fun project!
