Some say the colours you choose to have within your home say a lot about your personality.

So what colour are your living room walls?

If you're going to go with an all white look I always recommend that clients consider using a 'silk' paint. They really bounce the light around, and don't become dusty and yellow/grey over time as matt emulsions usually do.

As a side bonus they are wipeable, so no need to repaint an area if you make some marks - just wipe them away. Very practical.

My clients who are listing their homes for sale often repaint to freshen up the place, and the winning combination of colours that sells homes seems to be:

Base color: Pure Brilliant White - Silk | Accent Color (and hallways): Polished Pebble - Silk

The combination is fresh & clean looking and goes with almost all decorative styles.

If you are willing to keep magnolia, I'd go for a bold graphite sort of grey colour as a feature which could act as a backdrop for the colourful sofas. Grey is very versatile and works well with many coloured sofas. Alternatives if you are looking to paint all the walls and get rid of the magnolia - paint all walls a light-mid grey. This works well with the existing orange couch and would also work well with a green or yellow couch - paint all the walls in a soft grey bar the feature wall which could be painted a Dark Teal or blue. This would be create a nice backdrop for the orange sofas and green sofas if you choose to go for green.

Would you match your living room furniture with your dining room?

In the picture above I personally would have a different sofa or chairs. The wood matches and goes together nicely with it being open plan but I think the chairs and sofa matching (styles not colours) is slightly too much.

It's still on their website. They can probably mix it for you. Think it's best to see which shades of blue appeal to you and try some out. If you can get some blue paint swatches, take them home, make your selection and get one or more testers to test it out on the wall. Midnight Navy by Crown looks lovely too. Don't know about the price, but have good experiences with Crown paint. I'm not in the UK though. https://www.crownpaints.co.uk/products/feature-wall/matt-emulsion/midnight-navy/246

I live in a village in the mountains of Spain. Our house, inside and out, is painted white - BUT the whole inside back wall of the house is painted yellow , so as you move from floor to floor, and on the stairwell, the yellow is a link. In our lounge, between the front windows, there is a pillar. It is painted red. On the stairs, the odd pillar or shelf is painted red or greyish brown... It adds variety, yet keeps the cool, clean, crisp feel of the white ..

The light terracotta is on the four walls of a west facing salon in a villa in south west France, in the Plateau de Millevaches. It can be very hot in summer and the afternoon and evening sun gives a wonderful Mediterranean warmth. And in the cold winters it gives off a soft glow by the light of a cosy woodburner.
