What colour paint in living room
Comments (7)Hi Suzie, It sounds like an exciting project your starting. Its great your starting from scratch with the space, so you can get everything perfect and exactly how you want it. The items you have already purchased go together perfectly, and will work well with the grey and black furnishings you have mentioned. You have the beginnings of a very sophisticated and stylish living space. There are two routes you can go down when choosing a colour to tie everything together in the space, a more sleek and cooler palette or a warmer more cosy scheme. Below are two colour options you can get ideas from to inspire the different looks. Going for a soft grey tone will work really nicely with your grey walnut furnishings and the shimmery purple tones for a very cool chic style for your room. Goose Down is a good example of a colour you could try to achieve this sleek look. Picking up more on the golden tones in your wallpaper and lamp shade, a warm neutral tone will make the space feel more cosy and homely, but still bringing in that glamour through your wallpaper and other accessories. Perfect Oyster, suggested below is a nice subtle, soft tone that will look great with your existing pieces. Either of these choices will be a great base colour for your walls to tie in your lovely wallpaper and furnishings. We hope you get on well with your decorating and would love to see some pictures of the finished result. Comments (26)You like the idea of a feature wall, so take the advise from those who listened to you and replied with feature wall ideas, there are some really nice and a bit different wood effect wall papers, that would look good above and then just extended about 24" either side of your fire place, also the mirror could be just a little higher, the family photos you have would be better placed above the unit that your lamp is on, also pulled away from the corner about 3ft, your other wall art would look great placed above your sofa, but not the 2 flower one's, maybe try placing them one above the other on a narrow wall, and have your foot stall/pouffe underneath with a couple of cushions, almost creating a reading nook, good luck with what ever you choose to do...See Morewhat colour to paint kitchen/dining/living room.
Comments (8)With the wood, I think if continue to use orange tones, it'll be too...orangey. I'd go for either blue as it's opposite on the spectrum, or continue around the spectrum to yellow-green as a cool colour....See MoreWhat colour to paint for living room with duck egg curtains?
Comments (4)Hope this gives a rough idea showing the duck-egg curtains, white tv units and the piano with the sofa almost the same kind of dark brown colour, plus the light grey carpet. The walls are currently in magnolia. I had a thought after posting the question, perhaps having one wall in blue would look a bit strange so thinking if I choose a light-med grey for the wall behind the TV and the wall behind the sofa, then an even ligher grey colour for the two remaining walls (around the window and the wall behind me). This way we sort of let the curtains be the focus of the room? (sorry currently the room is too messy for a photo so I had used an old one masking the family and window view) Thanks!...See MoreA S
