Range Cooker Colour

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a good day.
I'm looking to buy my first ever range cooker and do not have a huge budget. I am after a Rangemaster and really like the one I have chosen which is black. However, a friend of mine thinks it will drive me mad as I like things very clean and tidy.
Rangemaster have the same range in cream which is another option but the gas hob is still black even though the doors are cream so no difference with the top and possible dust/marks.
Would really appreciate any advice/recommendations from those of you that have a black range.

From one clean freak to another, I would say go for the black! ;) To me That would be easier to keep clean than the cream. Plus a quick wipe down with damp cloth will keep dust and dirt at bay and only takes five minutes! :)

If the top of your range gets dusty you are not using it enough you should consider if you should prioritise spending money on this

That did make me chuckle :-). I do actually live by myself and appreciate your advice but have already decided definitely on a range and this has been factored into my new kitchen design which has been ordered. It would be good to hear from anyone that has a black range ;-).

If the range is an Aga/Rayburn/Esse type then I would go for cream, it’s a timeless colour and will fit in with many types of kitchen cabinets, they are expensive, heavy and will take some shifting if you decide to change it in the future. A stronger colour that is fashionable will date. If the range cooker is just a bigger cooker then stick with stainless steel.

I’ve always liked the look of Lacanche and they now do ones with induction hobs and a more streamline style. Comes in lots of colours too. I’ve never used one though!

I have a black Stanley range, a cream range and a deep green range. I find the cream is easiest to keep clean. The other ones are inclined to show dust or water marks more. It's a bit like a black car, it shows up everything; whereas a silver car is easier to keep!

Range cookers are long term keepers. I have had my Britannia range cooker for 15 years and it's still going strong. I would go for the black - it's timeless. I assume you will also be buying a black extractor?

Thank-you all for your advice - much appreciated - I love the black but have decided to go with the cream. Like "ianthy" said it is like a black car, my last car was black and looked lovely when it was clean but it did drive me a bit mad with marks ;-).
