I have something closer to the Wycome set - although fabric (washable) padded seats and a bench. However I love the luxurious look of the Maddox chairs. I think probably the Wycombe is more functional on a regular use kind of table, however the Maddox would be great for dinner parties where you might spend an entire evening at the dining table!

I'm not sure about either to be honest, sorry. I appreciate the ideas though! I think where i'm struggling is i quite like something gold/marble, i'm just aware I have gone for quite statement pieces so I want everything to effortlessly flow together and look well-styled but not gaudy/mish-mashed. I suppose I know how i want it to feel i.e. luxurious, elegant and feminine rather than how i want it to look, if that makes sense? Ok, so I have attached a few pics that I have created on the homebyme website. Pics show the floorplan and a possible room layout. This is to be a kitchen/diner. The space is currently there, it just is 2 separate rooms at the moment and we will be removing walls to create this space. Top wall in pic is 5m, of which will be 3.6 m sliding doors to garden. We originally had island parallel to the run of units along the left side wall. We have now rotated so it is perpendicular to the run of units. Behind island is staircase, underneath which will be fully built in, units to include fridge freezer and larder. The distance I have allowed between the back of the island and the understairs storage is 1.2m, would this be enough should there be someone sitting at a stool, and would I still be able to open a cupboard behind? Any suggestions more than welcome! The left side wall is 4.55m til the doorway, this run of units needs to include sink and cooker and at the end I have put in the pic full height tall unit to hold washing machine and boiler. I would like a bit of symmetry with that run of units, but just been playing about with it tonight! Could this work? Thanks for looking!

Navy is dark and the room feels quite dark, this will make them very prominant.. I would go for a lighter shade of something, It's very neutral so you could add anything you like. Your lighting is quite warm so it is difficult to judge the colour of the walls exactly, Try draping fabrics (clothes, bed linen, tablecloths, tea towels, etc) whatever you have in a colour you like over the chairs first to see if you like it before committing to a colour. You also need to do a lot of research on Houzz on dining chair colours and fabrics to see if that inspires you. Apologies if you have already done this. It also helps to look at other countries ideas.
