Vaulted ceiling...or not?

I got lots of advice here for my single story side extension. Once complete we will gain a space of around 2.35 m X 3.65 m to use as guest bedroom. we have planned to go with a pitched sloping roof with vaulted ceiling but I'm now wondering if vaulted is a good idea. visually I'm sure it will look great but harder to keep warm and will gave to buy blinds if we have veluX window. is it practical?

What are your thoughts?

Thankyou

Our previous house had a vaulted ceiling in the sitting room and it was fab. We loved it. We replaced the ceiling at once point and insulated it well although I don't think it was chilly beforehand. The whole room felt so spacious. I'd say go for it. Angie

Thanks both. my other concern is because it's a narrow room and a side extension with a sloping roof I don't want it to look like a 'lean-to' if that makes sense! so hard to tell how it will look when you are just staring at footings!

Could you have the ceiling start slightly lower down the wall against the house then have it go up a little before sweeping down to the topped of the new wall? Would look intentional rather than lean-to. What I mean is that apex is not against a wall. Angie
