Ever imagined having perfectly green grass 365 days a year?

The weather in Scotland can prevent us from using our gardens as much as we want to, but with artificial grass your children and pets can play in the garden all year round with no mess! Some people will still prefer natural grass but we want to see if you can tell the difference in the below photos...

I can see the benefits of artificial grass but my concern is the impact it must have on wildlife. When you think of all the birds you see feeding from a lawn, it's got to be bad news surely? I think in the future it will be frowned upon much like it is now with all the people who tarmaced over their front gardens and the damaging impact that had on the natural environment.

I have a very small lawned area and so artificial turf was a great option for ease and no need to buy a mower. About half of the garden has plant and shrub borders so I think you can get a balance for nature and unlike concreting your garden water will penetrate the artificial turf.
Weirdly the dog won't walk on it though!

You could play with fake grass; have a look at this thread and see what they've done: https://www.houzz.co.uk/discussions/balcony-makeover-dsvw-vd~534450 The beauty of the fake grass is that you don't have to lay it like a carpet, you can cut it any way you like or just have some under your bistro table and chairs as a 'green rug'. I had fun with it in my back garden; the space was too small to have a lawn (last 2 photos). Bought the astro-turf in B&Q (£15/sqm) - so far it behaved quite well :)) Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hi Suzanne, I would consider artificial grass/decking for your rooftop. As in future this can, of course, be used as a terrace and would look great with a balustrade, furniture, and plants etc. Nothing to lose really, as you'll have some extra space to use in the summer and in the winter when the gardens get muddy. @KerryBryanInteriors

I think artificial grass is fantastic for young families as it allows children to play outdoors all year round with no mess. Thats got to be good!!

I have 100square metres of green area to lay ... artificial grass is as expensive as carpet, so ermm... besides, never mind humans seeing the difference, will the dog recognise the difference with where he is allowed to go?!
