Hubby would love almost anything by Jason Martin; in fact he bid on some of his paintings, but the price always went way higher than estimated. http://www.lissongallery.com/artists/jason-martin I'd love Escher's Relativity. Not because it's my favourite (it's not), but because I could play with it, turning it around every day and spending years deciding which side would look best in my living room light.

Hello fhparis I painted my 1980's fitted dark brown wardrobes a year ago. I was able to remove a shelf which i used to practice on and to get an idea of the finish i could achieve. Or indeed if i could do it. Your wardrobes are lighter in colour which is a plus. I mentioned the products i used in an earlier post. Dont underestimate how long it will take to do. I think i applied 3 undercoats and at least 3 top coats. It was well worth the effort and cost a fraction of buying new wardrobes. The pics show 2 sets of painted wardrobes. Best of luck with your project

Hi there. We followed the polyvine approach as per people’s instructions above. 2 coats then 1 with Matt finish. We have done it in our new kitchen/living/dining extension. Has been up a year and we love it. It’s hard wearing and polyvine confirmed with me that you can paint over it in the future if you wish. We don’t regret it at all. The colour has lasted. The most challenging thing for us was making sure the plaster dried before sealing it which took a long time so you must factor that in. I’m not sure how well it would fare in a bathroom with the damp and humidity. You could look into microcement for that as they can match any colour and that is specifically for bathrooms.

I think I'm going to paint the bottom blue tiles so I can do a bit more with the bathroom and make it look fresh. Perhaps go black and white with some natural woods in and plants. Cheapest and easiest way as a short term option. However, as the tiles above the blue are already white gloss (and it's a tall ceiling!) how do I do this? Ie if I paint the blue ones white and put a new border in then they will clash with the ones above? I don't really want to paint the top ones as well as that is a mammoth job. Should I perhaps choose white but in a different finish? Ie a satin or matt so they look intentionally like a different tile? Still trying to find a suitable tile paint that gets good reviews that is OK around the shower. 🙈
