Backsplash dilemma.
Comments (6)Hi Carolyn. I think your kitchen looks great, love the styling of the shelves. Does the "splashback "on the oven come off? If not, and may be wrong(!), I think a splashback might look a bit odd. If you were to do anything I might add a splashback all the way across that wall up to the bottom of the first shelves but it would be good to see a pic including the ceiling. Your kitchen to me seems all about texture so I would actually avoid any type of coloured glass but add more interest with texture. I don't think it's needed though I would just clear a couple of things off the worktop add some wild flowers (good faux if necessary) and a potted herb or 2...See MoreBacksplash Brick Slip Dilemma
Comments (10)Thank you all for the feedback. The gaps between the brick slips would be the same as between the bricks Colourhappy. It sounds like the marble quartz is winning! It does look lovely, I just wanted to make the most of the bricks on that wall too, but in practice they would probably be a pain to look after behind the hob. Thank you for the compliment Lifestyle Kitchens, I'm excited to see how the finished kitchen turns out....See Morepaint colour dilemma
Comments (2)I remember your kitchen. I think adding more wood, wicker and cane would go with the Scandi theme and add warmth. The floor is great. So where the cute children’s Xmas paintings are I can see a couple of chunky wooden shelves (Etsy is a great place to source them), wicker light shades are gorgeous, or wicker wall plates (see below). I would also add a wooden chopping board to carry the wood theme. It can learn against the backsplash when not in use. Plants are good too. I think the sage green is lovely, but then green is my favourite colour. Scandi look tends to be more soft white (not Brilliant White), but sometimes the addition of black looks fab. In the last pic you can see how black is used with the lighting, handles and rack and yet it still looks bright and fresh....See MoreOpen Plan Kitchen/Living/Dining Design Dilemma
Comments (7)Oval dining tables are able to seat everyone comfortably and a good choice. Not so easy to come by however! Maybe a glass top table would add a bit of sparkle/bounce light around the area? If you have kids an oval or round extending to oval best. My dining table is oval with extra leaf added to round top and I keep it as extended. Might be easier to find round to oval than just looking for fixed oval top? Choose a sofa with neutral but washable loose covers (ie machine wash) and add colourful cushions to make a statement. As your wood in new kitchen is dark and warm tones, follow the warm tones with dining table/chair/sofa legs in dark wood....See More- 7 years ago
