Kitchen help please - Adding a fridge freezer
Hi - I'm looking for some help in possible layout changes to a kitchen we had installed 2 and a half years ago. Since having it installed we have found that there's a few annoying little things we've had to put up with since this time. One of them is that we only have an under counter fridge in the kitchen. We have a fridge freezer in the garage but the garage is at the end of the garden and the appliance is breaking down so we are looking at our options to bring something into the house.
The other has been cupboard space in the kitchen. We have a couple of corner cupboards and have to reach into them so are thinking about easier access by using pull out storage in both of these. Also by replacing the under counter fridge with a full size fridge freezer, we would be able to make more use of the cupboard space.
I was hoping someone may be able to offer advice on whether we could install a new fridge freezer in the kitchen space and if so, where?
The space is a kitchen diner as shown in the photos, but we are going to get rid of the table and chairs and find a smaller kitchen table depending on if we can find a solution with a fridge freezer. One of the options is to use the space in the dining room and place either additional units and/or a large fridge freezer on the wall next to the internal door. Can anyone offer advice looking at the photos on what they would do?

Comments (2)Never ever seen a side by side or American that sits flush to the units. That's because of the angle degrees the doors need to open. Comments (12)With a handleless door 19mm is just enough to open the doors, but not enough to take out the glass shelves. We mostly sell Siemens and Bosch (they're really twins), no problems with the veg/freezer boxes. Some of my customers are ok with the shelves staying in, but others add a filler of thicker panels on either side of the tall cabinets. Because the thicker panels don't fit in the slim lined top and side panel of the cooking are, you could make the countertop 65cm deep, so it will stand out. I'd also suggest removing the vertical 'handle strip' on the left of the oven. Hinges on the left side, it'll be fine. Also, pick a fridge cabinet without the little panel on top. There'll probably be a gap when opening the fridge door, but it'll look better on the outside. (Have a shelf on top of the fridge and you can store some large plates or oven tray there, just make sure there's enough ventilation for the fridge.) Or.. Comments (9)We had an integrated one like you describe in previous house - SubZero - it was great! But now we have a full larder fridge and honestly I don't miss the wide fridge. I probably miss the freezer drawers more, but they didn't actually hold that much - not compared to a full larder freezer anyway. The best thing was probably never having to bend down to access fridge drawers as the fridge was all at the top - but you could have two integrated fridge-freezers side by side to get that functionality - a friend has that and although you have to know which fridge something is in, it works well for them - and they have both opening in the middle so it looks like it'll be a double-wide unit but it's actually two 600mm units side by side....See More

It looks like you have plenty of room on the back wall as you come in to put in a top and bottom unit to gain extra space and then the American Fridge Freezer. In fact, if you were to go for this style -
Because of the way it's constructed it's slightly narrower than some at 840mm wide. This leaves exactly 900mm for a 500 and a 400 unit top and bottom, gaining you a lot more storage. I'd put the Fridge Freezer in the corner where the plug is and then it won't feel narrow walking in to the room. Currys Fridge Freezer

why don't you buy a table and chair that has a picnic bench at one end - that way it will tuck under the table, so that when you are not using it - it will create more space in the kitchen.
