faux exposed brick wallpaper or not
Comments (21)Hi I had the same dilemma with the dining part of my kitchen. I love the brick wall effect so decided to try a wallpaper as it's only a small wall. I'm really pleased with the results. It cost me just £9 for one roll from B & Q. You can only tell it's wallpaper by getting up close and touching it - before and after photos attached....See MoreExposed brick dilemma
Comments (1)Hi there, I would leave the brick work as it is (i.e. mortar unpainted). It's not that the paint looks bad, it's just that the plain bricks are easier to work with when you're adding colours and textures into the room. For example, if you added a patterned rug or piece of art, it's more likely to go with the plain bricks! Exposed brick walls can also look nice with floor length, heavy curtains in a soft material like velvet. I left some plaster up on the main hallway wall and painted it - it used to house a collection of African masks that have moved with me....See Moreelectrics in exposed brick wall...surface mounted or other
Comments (2)Hi Ant, I guess it depends on what type of look you are going for in the room. We have recently put flush brushed stainless steel throughout our renovation project for sockets and switches but we have more of a rustic / modern look opposed to very industrial. If the look you're aiming for is quite industrial then the surface mounted might look good. Hard to say without knowing a bit more :)...See MoreUser
