Hi,
We're mid extension replacing our old conservatory with a kitchen/diner with two sets of bifolds. Our budget isn't going to stretch to major landscaping unfortunately but we're trying to think of what to do with the garden to best utilise the space outside from the bifolds. As you can see from the photos, the garden has been neglected this year and has gone a bit wild!
Our initial thoughts are a patio along the end of the house which would need a step down from the bifold doors that side. Alternatively, the builders have done something along the other side which would mean we could build a patio level with the doors. We don't want decking as had it at our last house and got so slippy. I'd eventually like a pergola with climbers somewhere at the end too. We have two young children and a big front lawn so aren't too worried about losing a bit of lawn to a patio area.
We're lucky to have plenty of space to work with but its hard to envisage how best to lay it out. We'll definitely be removing a lot of the shrubs as they've taken over. Any other advice would be gratefully received - I've tried to sketch a rough plan of existing garden. Apologies for lack of measurements yet. Plus some photos to show the extent of the jungle!
TIA, Gemma
