Art work advice

Hi Do I need to obtain permission from anyone for a photo which includes Beryl Cook prints hanging on a wall in a sitting/living room I designed? Thanks

The easy solution is to blur this part of the image as is often done to preserve anonymity when there are pictures of family.

Hi. I think either would work. If you go for a round mirror, I would go for something about 2/3 of the size of the mantle. I'm not sure of your taste in art but have attached a couple of pics. These are from contemporary canvas and art4uk. Also try art.uk if you haven't already. Consoles look good next to fireplaces but I'm not sure you would have the space with the chair. You could try a side table,leather trunk, magazine rack, large floor ornament or cabinet?

Hello, This would also depend of the style of the artwork, not only personal taste. Is it contemporary, traditional? Some framed images or large scale posters may look better in thin black frame but for example if the artwork is quite plain than it looks better in thick bordered frame. Box frames are also popular. I am a designer myself and love beautiful artworks. :)

I saw something similar in John Lewis a few years ago but thought I could replicate it for a fraction of the cost ..... And it worked. I bought an inexpensive square stretched canvas on a frame from The Range. I painted the whole lot with left over emulsion paint then made a circle template with paper to cover the edges. I then spattered three colours of metallic paint over it by having the canvass flat on the floor and flicking the paint off a brush from above. The end result looked very professional and everyone admired it. It would still be up today had it not got damaged during a house move.
