I guess the photo isn't great in terms of giving ideas on dimensions as you can see the tv perfectly from the sofa (it's on a swivel). We have the decor sorted too with regards to art and mirrors, like I said, we only just finished fitting it so not everything is up yet....give us a chance! :) We have now got some pendant lights that look perfect so thanks for all comments but help is no longer needed xx

Our recommendation would be to have three identical pendant lights that are suspended at different heights above the stairs which will create the illusion of a more spacious staircase. Have a browse of the Litecraft website which is home to a vast range of height-adjustable pendant lights in all shapes and sizes. If you are wary about the height of the first light, we would suggest one of our decorative cable lights which has a height range between 13-100cm approximately (not including the bulb measurement) which leaves you with plenty of room to work with. I think option 1 is not leaving enough space at the ends. It might look unbalanced. My island is 3100mm and I have clear three glass pendants of a similar size to yours and they are 600mm apart. This leaves 950 at each end but they are central as the hob is the item requiring the lighting. I think with the size of your island two pendants would be sufficient. Play around with it and don't make them too high either for cleaning. You only need about 750mm above the island worksurface. Mine are over a metre high and require a two person, two ladders, glass gloves and a chunk of time to remove and clean. If yours are glass think of easy cleaning. Mine is 1600mm wide so difficult to reach and you can't stand on the quartz.
