I have ticked 'grey' although I have kitchen units in three different colours in my fairly new kitchen-diner - lamp-room grey with an oak worktop housing a double Belfast sink, graphite grey with a pale granite worktop on the peninsular unit and alabaster (rich creamy colour) with the same oak worktop opposite the peninsular unit and for the doors of the walk-in larder and utility cupboard (no space for a utility room!) and the oven housing. The oak worktops have been treated with four coats of Osmo Polyx-oil, which I think is a fantastic product and has protected the worktops perfectly. The flooring is mock limestone laminate and I'm delighted with how the whole room looks.

I would try some different neutrals such as Little Greene 'Slaked Lime Dark' or Farrow and Ball 'Light Grey17'. It a lovely bright space and the floor is very warm and quite strong so I would go for a warm stoney neutral that complements the floor and the range. If the paint is more obviously blue of green it will make the floor look even stronger. Little Greene does oil based so I would use that over water based. Hope this helps. https://www.littlegreene.com/paint/colour/show-all/slaked-lime-dark#

The room looks very modern and spacious and having 2 colours in a kitchen is very popular. With regards to wall units (see image below where shelves have been used) & fridge/freezers, it really is down to personal preference but American fridge/freezers are very bulky, but they do give a lot of fridge space, although the freezers do tend to be a little small. Shelving can look nice and it could keep costs down. Decisions, decisions :-) Here are some pics of shaker kitchens that our customers have sent us with 2 different colours that they have used in their kitchens. If you want to see more pics then they can be seen here.

Love your kitchen, you’ve done a great job, not only does the kitchen look good, it’s totally practical, drawers are the way forward, even if they are more expensive than cupboards. I’ve just redone a kitchen in a house we rent out, the old one was finally falling apart. I was going to go to Howdens and use the joiner etc we knew, but in the end we used a small local company, which cost us £300 more, but the quality of their interior cabinets and doors was so outstanding, plus they could do everything, including tiling, we went with them. We didn’t change the floor, but did everything necessary, I’m hoping it lasts well and our tenants look after it!
