Window

We have French doors and windows either side, the problem is that we can poles as there is nowhere to fit them. Our lounge is quite dark as next door has an extension so I don't want anything to stop the light coming in. Please help.

I know it's standard to put curtain poles above a window, but it is possible to fix them to the ceiling just as easily. A pic as Sew Homely says would be useful.

Looks like the majority is for window and my partner really wants one so just got to decide on size, love the photo and given the inspiration to sort that area out, we are replacing the paving slabs and won't go all the way to the wall so can plant some shrubs and maybe even a small tree to help make it look prettier, thanks for all comments, great forum as usual - onto my next dilemma which will be posting soon, many thanks all for taking time to reply, Lawrence

Can I use corian for a window sill for a window within a shower area?

My friend has Corian in her kitchen as a seamless worktop, sink and splash back. She also has it up and over the window sill. It looks great but it does scratch easily and it does leave watermarks. She had been talked into it by the kitchen company which she now regrets. It wasn’t cheap. I think granite is incredibly hardwearing if your budget stretches to it. Quartz is very popular too.

Hi Jason! Personnally I wouldn't block it, I think that it would be a waste of money. Even if it doesn't bring enough light from the outside currently, it will still help with air circulation. And you don't even need tons of natural light in your bathroom to create a fabulous space ;) I previously designed a bathroom that doesn't even have a window. By modifying the lighting and playing with some colours it really changed the perception of the space! We would like to knock our kitchen chimney breast wall down into the garage is this possible as we were told by a builder that there is to much involved. Have anyone got picks before and after. Thanks
