Window dressing for french windows?

Hi All,

I would like some ideas on how you would dress this window. (old pic! we have just decorated) I love the idea of shutters however our neighbours have them and I don't think they look very good with the bars(?) on the windows.

We have had very simple white net curtains and I do feel i need something to cover the window as I don't want people looking in. It's almost floor to ceiling window.

Any thoughts?

I think a nice roman blind on the inside of the window and French lace nets tied back just to dress the window, although I do love the idea of shutters, I had these fitted in my lounge instead of cord I opted for the taped version I'm really happy with them.

Depending on your overall design there is a huge variety of shops and online companies who would be happy to provide you with a lovely curtain, blinds or shutters. If your heart desire shutters you can go online and browse some online providers and ask for quotes and visualisations. I think that is a double-track and they have a second, heavier curtain behind it. But even if they don't, I think that is what you should do for versatility and look. They actually have it built into the frame so it is hidden and super sleek, but I think you can achieve this look if you run it along where the angled ceiling meets the wall. I would take a picture of your room and what you like to John Lewis, or another high end store or specialist curtain maker and ask their advice for specifics. I was just trying to give you an idea that I hoped you would like! I'm sorry I can't be super specific, but I think you need to have these custom made to do justice to the room, the view, and to get exactly what you want.

If you search French door blinds 'Lucy' asked a similar question on 17/11/17. Here are my blinds, very geometric, not very country cottage though!... Sorry everything is crammed in the room as we are waiting for our new house to be built. Should give you the idea..the centre ones go to the floor.

If you have wall lights on the pillars then you wouldn't be able to have one long pole, but I think that would look best and the most minimalist solution vs 3 separate poles. You can also get blinds fitted to the recesses of the door which can look really good as they're not noticeable when closed

If you're keeping those net curtains then you want something that keeps with that theme, a good quality roman blind would be a good choice, there are many options to go for, from textured fabrics to Orla Kiely designs if you want to bring a bit of retro flair. https://www.makemyblinds.co.uk/roman-blinds/
