Bathroom Wall Hung Vanity Unit

Hi,We are currently trying to do our main bathroom and are looking for a long double sink vanity unit. Most of the ones stocked in bathroom shops look cheap, even though they aren't! We are thinking of a light wood finish preferably with a stone / composite top. Sounds silly but we are struggling to find one that isn't £100 to the other extreme £15k. Any suggestions on where to get one designed / made or even off the shelf?Thanks again,Ed

Something else to consider with the wall hung units and heavy tops, is the wall that you want to hang it on. If you were having a stone top then I would advise you to have the type of unit , that looks floating, but that has supports underneath to take the weight. ( Your second pic is one like that ). You will not be able to hang a unit on a stud wall, unless you can find the studs in the wall and hang it from those. A brick wall poses no problems as you will be able to put whatever supports you like on that. The weight of a top and two sinks is a lot, one sink on it's own weighs quite a bit, so do consider the 'how to hang' conundrum before you purchase something that cannot be put in to your particular bathroom.

I'd decide on which specific basin you prefer, choose the top and then ask a joiner to make the cupboards and fit the top.

I think it will be fine. Here is a photo of mine. The unit is 92 cm from floor. Then basin approx 7cm. I did choose a shallower basin than you are suggesting as everyone told me it would be too high. Pleased to report it isn’t!

Matte, satin or gloss white bathroom vanity unit

Different companies may use "matte" and "satin" interchangeably, so always worth looking at actual samples to get a feel for any given finish. As to whjich to pick - it is really just a matter of personal taste. There are some excellent super-matte finishes on the market which guard against fingerprints and satin paint finishes can give a real quality feel. Have a good look at the construction of any units, especially at seams and edges - there can be a big difference in quality of finish & type of construction! Also with brass & bronze finishes - these can vary quite a bit, so always make sure you get the handles & taps together before deciding, to make sure they are a good match.
