Can I make this work?!

I have bought a sideboard and drinks cabinet online and have just discovered that I can't return them... I really like them on their own but they aren't the colour I expected, they are grey but a much warmer grey than the more silver grey that is on my sofas and rug.
You can see curtains and sideboard in the pic, there is some warmth in the room from the curtains, which are ivory, gold with little bit silver in them
I am not finished decorating so still need to get lamps, artwork etc to finish it off, the current art is just sitting on top just now and this and the lamp might end up elsewhere.
Is there anyway I can neutralise the warmth in the sideboard to make this work?
I am planning to get new cushions but haven't got round to it yet, will this make a difference?
Really looking for positive responses because I can do nothing about this now and have nowhere else to put them!

Comments (5)Hi there! I like the tiles! May be your temptation to paint the whole place white is a good idea. I think Vanilla White from Dulux will look nice and bright up the space. Your can use cobalt carpet for staircase and you have plenty of possibilities to be original with art or pictures and accessories....See Morered carpet
Comments (5)Reminds me of a long ago rental. Beautiful Victorian but the owner did the front room with flocked gold and white paper, red velvet drapes and red wall to wall. After the initial chuckle we purchased off white upholstered furniture, wood tables and a flatweave rug to fit over the red as much as possible. It wasn't long before we barely noticed, though everyone else who entered did a double take. The good part was that the windows were original and those drapes really helped with winter drafts. Comments (6)Depending on the style your trying to accomplish you have a few options. If your style is very modern I'd go with grey walls white furniture and pull some green into your accessories and curtains. If your wanting a more traditional look I'd try oak furniture white walls and accessorise as you like but pull the green that way. You always have the option of a 70s style (I know it's not a 70s sofa) but you could play on the colour by adding a vintage sideboard and big rug maybe adding some mustard yellow and light blue....See Moreaccent chair help please!!
