Need help on Paint for Kitchen & Living Room
Comments (2)Might be time to call in someone to help onsite - F&B have colourists who visit - as do Laura Ashley and then there's a whole host of independent designers - the main issue, I believe, when you want to get a look that's the same in both rooms - is the light ... you probably will need two shades of the same colour - one lighter for the darker room and one darker for the lighter room - then they should give the same tonal feel from one room to the next ( speaking from experience in my own home - I'm a planning geek not a colourist !) I think that little Greene do shades of the same colours - and obviously dulux do - ie choose from the same paint sample card - but if you really can't find the right shade - I'd strongly suggest you ask for someone to come to see what light/dark situation you have and they can advise accordingly ! It will be worth the investment!!...See MoreI need help with the paint colour in my hallway. need a beige grey col

Comments (15)Funnily enough, we have been thinking about making the landing into a reading area with low book shelves when we conceptualized our little extension slightly over a year ago. As we had imagined, the area is flooded with light for most hours of the day. I had therefore originally intended to focus on getting some suggestions for the white wall but thought the better of it and threw the question wider so that we may get a schematic idea for the area rather than something too specific which might not gel together. So thanks everyone for your great suggestions. Any thoughts about canvas/photograph(s) arrangement on the white wall would be greatly appreciated. p.s. love the handcrafted colour cubes at the Lines of Pinner but they will have to go with the rest of the colour scheme should we decide to go down that route....See MoreNeed help grey or white windows!
Comments (4)I chose grey but only based on the rest of the upvc being grey as well. Two tones would look odd and I think you would be better keeping them all white then. I had the same dilemma on our last house. Ended up painting the rear upvc porch myself in a special paint - so it matched some other black doors on the ground floor. However I decided just to keep the Windows white (60's house)...See More- 8 years ago
