Hello rejster, You might think about two paths here... either three blackout shades, one in the center with two on either side, or, if you can manage it, hang a single blackout shade above the bay opening to come down to the top of the cabinets. This may leave a little flash of light to either side (which might drive you crazy ) but it's a thought. You could, really, do that with drapery as well which would delete the clutter. Smith and Noble has several great options for shades and blackout shades and are all customizable. You can find them online. angelaew The glass is already privacy textured, the aim is to provide more privacy than a film (or similar can provide) as the bathroom is on the first floor at the front of the house. Bagpuss DO you think it would look odd to have the blinds only covering the lower 2 windows? The blinds are likely to be drawn almost all the time, and not covering the top 2 windows will allow more light through. Camilla I too love plantation shutters, but budget doesnt stretch to that at the moment (the whole bathroom needs renovating, so the solution I put in place now will likely be replaced when the bathroom gets renewed (indeed the location of the bathroom may move entirely in the house if I do the planned extension, but that is a few years away yet!) What a lovely view! A few possibilities.... Shutters... Drape fabric over with blinds... Trapezoid Blinds... I wonder if its possible to open up the ceiling to follow the roof line, It'd make the space more dramatic. I know you may have water tanks etc up there so may not be possible. Worth checking out a few blinds companies if you want to go down the blinds route, lots do motorised blinds for trapezoid windows. Good luck!

Ooo... that's an odd shape indeed. Think it'll be a good idea to also have a patio at the back part, so you have something that invites you to go there. Could be small, with a couple of chairs maybe. Just to make it interesting. I'm thinking that it could be nice to build a pergola at the corner of the garage, stretching to the fence. It'll give height to the garden and gives your eyes a place to stop, so you don't directly look at the back of the garden. It'll make it look larger. And then a path that'll take you to the back patio, with nice wide planting borders to soften it all. Something like this (sorry, very basic mock up)
