Hi sandrasal Naturally the little ones do tend to make a mess of walls! However if you want to move away from using Gloss everywhere there are new options available. If you don't mind spending a little bit more on your paint then Dulux do a Diamond Eggshell - an ultra durable mid sheen paint that is 10x more stain & dirt resistant than other water-based eggshells. You can scrub this paint without worrying about stripping it off of the walls. Hope this helps! Regards KB

I've just had my exterior painted and I can see black 'holes' into the paint work - see picture. The exterior was sprayed. should I expect this effect? I'm thinking no. Could someone tell me if this is acceptable and if not what has caused it. My initial guess is bubbles from the spray, but wasn't sure if this is an intrinsic issue with pebbledash. I used to think paint was paint, as long as you got a decent brand that’s good enough. But now I would only buy from a trade centre. It does make a significant difference. So much that even an amateur painter like me can tell. :)

Be brave, and go dark! Often people are scared to as they think it makes a room smaller but actually it can have the opposite effect. Blurring the finishing lines of the room can give the illusion of more space, and if the space isn't particularly bright anyway, embrace it! Feature lighting - LED strips under the vanity, or wall lights - can really come into their own in moodier spaces too - don't underestimate the power of lighting :) For the backsplash, bring in a mosaic, or perhaps to continue the natural look, check out a few textured tiles like below - they have less grout to maintain but still offer a nice contrast: If you need a hand or any assistance with supply of products, advice, or design, check us out if you're local to Surrey or South West London :) - Adam
