Based on your rug, table and pillows, you could go with a muted blue or a muted green if you want to keep the room neutral and airy as much as possible.
I do like the elegance of a marble table and beautiful neutrals and pastels but obviously this is your room so if you want pops of colour (for instance like the red on your small pillow or a soft pink for a more romantic feel), you can definitely add them in small doses across the room. For this, think textiles, candles, flowers, accessories, art,...
Also, to have a lot of light coming in, I would advise to push your curtains away from the windows as much as possible, i.e. hang them high and wide especially as your windows are quite narrow. You can also try to have the curtains touch the floor for added style.
To keep as much light as possible you could have just one pair of curtains for both windows. So a long pole/rail with one curtain to each side of the room, covering both windows and the wall between when drawn.
