Love some advice my couch is soft mink
Not sure what colour curtains to hang or blinds it’s a very dark north room

Hi Am following this thread with interest - I have windows like this throughout my house and am finding it really difficult to decide on suitable treatments. On the upside it means the house always looks light and airy! We currently have a series of temporary roller blinds downstairs which work pretty well, but in the bedrooms we have curtains - although they now cover the radiators so not keen as a long term solution. Would also like to have blackout in the two main bedrooms. Does anyone know if extra wide roman blinds are available anywhere? We'd like an unfussy look. Suggestions and pics most welcome. Thanks.

There are quite a few roller blind companies online now that have a large range of textured fabrics with free sample service. Even some lovely ones in Dunelm! I would go for roller. I’ve done that in our bedroom as the windows are high and in a recess so can’t have curtains and want to let as much light in during the day as possible.

Only problem with treating it as one window means your curtains would pretty much cover both side windows.... it would look fine but just depends if you actually need that light?

cordless conservatory blinds - look super clean and modern, come in lovely range of colours, no need for curtains, good for heat retention and you can pull them down from the top or pull them up from the bottom - the choice is yours, we have some in our house and love them

Hi Tina,

Based on your rug, table and pillows, you could go with a muted blue or a muted green if you want to keep the room neutral and airy as much as possible.

For example a color palette that looks like this:

I do like the elegance of a marble table and beautiful neutrals and pastels but obviously this is your room so if you want pops of colour (for instance like the red on your small pillow or a soft pink for a more romantic feel), you can definitely add them in small doses across the room. For this, think textiles, candles, flowers, accessories, art,...

Also, to have a lot of light coming in, I would advise to push your curtains away from the windows as much as possible, i.e. hang them high and wide especially as your windows are quite narrow. You can also try to have the curtains touch the floor for added style.

To keep as much light as possible you could have just one pair of curtains for both windows. So a long pole/rail with one curtain to each side of the room, covering both windows and the wall between when drawn.
