Strange, just google Clare Maria Wood painter. Thanks ED. Randeep, Open Studios happens all over the country around this time, here in Cambridge it is in July. It is an opportunity to visit artist's houses and buy work from them directly.

We use Art.co.uk for lots of our artwork and they have a great choice of abstract art. Also Omar Obaid who can be found on Not On The Highstreet produces some fab abstract art pieces in a variety of colours.

Ill check these out. I like abstract landscapes. Somewhere where you can just get lost looking at the painting. Colours like gold, blue and even reds in the mix.

However width of 1.5m or more is key for the wall. Some amazing links here! Im engrossed with some of the beautiful art! thank you for sharing with me!...

I don't know if it's a specific style, other than abstract and/or expressionism. It's beautiful! First thought was that it was photographic, creatively edited. Perhaps that's something you could look into too.

Hi Randeep. One thing to bear in mind is what artists earn - usually very little. Galleries put monstrous mark up on artwork and then often impose restrictions on where artists sell their work. Cost of framing and materials (stretched canvases and good quality paint) is a lot so although initial price seems high, they are not really in real terms. Student shows and Open houses/studios will always be a good bet.

Hi Colour Happy. Although I appreciate the beauty of art. From googling, I am seeing what you are saying is completely right. All I am looking for is an oversized beautiful abstract art painting. I am not willing to pay thousands of pounds for the fact that its stuck in a gallery. I would definitely love to meet or speak to artists direct and purchase that way. Where would one find student shows? Like the royal academy of art or something?...its also a shame that some artists are stuck and hence contracted to galleries - the mark up seems ludicrous!... im very keen to go on a search mission!! :)
