Comments (6)Hello Karen, I love your Kitchen, lovely cabinets! This Kitchen features Traditional Style (from what I see). I personally like the glass panel splash back but this wouldn't go with your cabinets. However tiles, such as metro tiles, mosaic or patterned tiles would perfectly suit the style you have. Comments (8)There are a huge range of options and it would depend on the look and feel of what you want to achieve, your personal view on colour & boldness, what else is close by (to tie in with) and budget. A coloured glass, such as a citrine green or orange would look great. A very different style/look, but equally eye-catching would be some interesting patterned tiles such as the Patricia Urquiola collection from Surface Tiles in London (and elsewhere). My personal preference would be to opt for a white/grey marble such as a Calacatta D'oro which would be incredibly luxurious and bring in the white and soft greys as well as adding a hint of warm caramel. Comments (32)Tiles are one way to introduce some pops of colour in your kitchen. If you are worried about the grout discolouring, use epoxy grout which is more resilient to liquid staining. Also, if you use a coloured grout, discolouration will be less noticeable. If you choose textured tiles with rectilinear edges, grout lines are almost invisible. Using tiles can look more traditional compared to glass or stainless steel. The problem with stainless steel is keeping it looking good. Drip marks and grease are instantly noticeable. Glass is less obvious when splashed. They are both more industrial and modern looking. What about using the same material that makes up your worktop as the splashback? Comments (7)Is this the upstand for the whole of the worksurface or a splashback behind a sink or hob? If it's the Upstand then i'd match the worktop. For the splashback, then match the type of surface to that of the worktop, ie, if it's gloss stay with gloss, if matt stay with matt. As long as the surfaces are easy to clean then staying within a style will keep the kitchen looking seemless....See More

8 years ago- 8 years agoSuper small kitchen. Just finished breakfast and haven’t clean yet, no judging. I wanted a gray backsplash but my cabinets are too creamy so I just painted tan. At some point I will put up a backsplash and repaint. Bedrosians Grace tile matches really well. I’ll add pics. Usually the Grigio and Sabia are the best.

8 years ago- 8 years agoOur cabinets were just painted this month. I have tan floors throughout the whole house, so changing them is not really an option. So the paint colors are Agreeable Gray and Mega Greige, they are on the same strip of paint colors so we were trying to keep it along the same lines to have some gray and some beige to tie it all in. My current countertops are Pulling the beige out of the paint. I was Going to so the couple later, but I can’t stand the current counters with the new paint. I was hoping to pull more of the gray out, but knew if it went beige it wouldn’t be bad. Certain times of the day it’s gray other times it beige.So changing the cabinet isn’t Really an option now either. Here is a picture of the kitchen now.
8 years agolast modified: 8 years agoI just posted many photos of our completed reno with glass bottle green tile. The counter top stone (Fantasy Brown is a type of MARBLE called dolomite - it is not granite or quartzite) is the star, but that doesn't mean you can't compliment the colours in it, with subtle tones that won't compete. That goes for pattern as well. We have a nice toned grey wall paint, large grey floor tile with some light streak pattern in it so it compliments but doesn't compete. Then backspash with glass tile for more light (reflection, we don't have much direct sunlight) and to keep the kitchen from being too grey and white. Check it out, today July 27, 2018, it's at the bottom of the thread. The counter tops are still easily, the focal point and star of the kitchen:
