Hi UK Design Man In my opinion adding light into the vaulted ceiling really lifts the room and adds depth to the whole environment. You can achieve this using pendants (the Le Soleil would look great), wall uplighters (such as the Elle wall light) or recessed floor lights (like the Tera 7). Adding in an extra circuit for floor or table lamps gives the room the versatility it needs to adapt to your mood. Hope this helps, Rich Darklight Design

Hi there, Are you still looking for some advice? I would advice to use spotlights in the ceiling as it is the most appropriate and suitable lighting for a space used for sports. Alternatively, you could use small wall lights as your lighting. Because it's a small sports room, it wouldn't be suitable to have hanging lightings as it could cause interruptions while working out. What particular style did you want? I would love to help you find your perfect lighting.

A good electrician will be best to replace the cable to lengthen them and will guide you as to the height placement for optimum light splay in the room - without seeing it - I’d say try to leave at least 2.4m of clear space below - but also look at any beams or lower ceiling areas in the space and take into consideration shadow lines from them, dependent on where you place these lights . also - if this is going to be a place where you are swinging kettle bells around or skipping with a rope ( a gym in other words ) then you need more clearance below !

our revamped kitchen will have a vaulted ceiling which we wish to light with a light strip (as well as pendant lights). We have used `Phillips hue elsewhere and like the flexibility of this. but not sure we can get this in the length (approx 2m x 4m) and whether there are more appropriate alternatives. many thanks
