We are nearing the end of a year long remodel, with dining room floor to ceiling mirrors. Could not wait to get them down!

The question is best answered by asking yourself if you like them. “ Passé or not” shouldn’t matter if you like the look, the light or whatever else ... I had mine removed mainly because they were a pain to keep clean living at the beach.

I think it depends on your room. If it adds a great deal of light, I might be inclined to do something like what JudyG posted above to update it and keep it. Here are a couple more examples:

The problem with mirrored rooms, especially without onsite evaluation, is that they can't really be photographed well. The first photo is the house in a spread from 1964.

Most people don't want to see themselves eating. Remove the mirrors in the dining room.
