Start with the colour of the floor tiles in situ, the colour of the range, the unit and worktop design / colour. Then find an infill tile that will work with all of that, whilst being of the right depth to work with the old ones. My guess is it's still going to look out of place - possibly! - Therefore, consider having a border tile around the whole kitchen to blend it it.

Hi Sarah, I think contrast usually adds a wow to any scheme. I think if your kitchen cabinet unit/doors are matt then go gloss on the floor tiles. I think if the cabinets are gloss then do a matt floor. Another consideration is how you want the room to feel. The polished gloss version will throw around more light and bounce off the surface. I recently had my very small bathroom re-tiled. We used the marble effect polished white/grey veined tiles. The light bouncing off everything feels so glamorous. Also when adding value to your home - adding space or adding light adds value.

You could have a glass splashback as opposed to tiles. Far easier to keep clean. You could have a plain clear one, a sprayed one to your own colour choice if you offer the supplier a BS or RAL code or even look online for a more decorative one. Hi there, large concrete tiles are now heavily used in contemporary schemes and achieve a very minimalistic look. As a material, tiles are extremely good for kitchen floors given they’re hardwearing nature and resistance to spillages. Large tiles can be bought in different sizes but commonly you get 60x60cm or 75cmx75cm. The larger the tile, the harder to lay but less grout lines! In terms of heat, it will get cold in the winter if you do not have underfloor heating. You may want to opt to get a kitchen runner/rug for those very cold days.
