nursery room layout help

Really struggling on the layout of our 9 month sons nursery. We have a stokke round crib and a rocking chair and will need to add cupboard or chest of drawers some toy storage and leave good floor space for him to play. There’s two doors into the room and a fireplace (the black rectangle). Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Hiya, I've come up with some options for your nursery with the attached floor plan which is to scale along with some additional design suggestions. I think option 1 or 2 work quite well. With option 1 your son has plenty of room to play :) I've also added a little side table to put things down when you are sitting in the rocking chair.

Hi thank you so much for your reply and layout options. I love the rocking chair you added. I have a picture of the room if this helps? The floor will be varnished dark this week.

If you put the main tv in the area with the French doors - could you see your son from the kitchen ? ( it looks like you could )... I've put together a very quick sketch of an idea to make the most of that beautiful fireplace nook - with a couple of fireside chairs - have either a round display table ( flowers /family photos etc) in the bay or add seating and use as an alternative dining / homework table ? With your 2.5 and 2.3m sofa in the French room end ... If you enable tv viewing /games etc in a tablet it could open up more opportunity too ?! Even if it's fixed in different places rather than hand held if that could be a problem ? [marketing note - this is an example of a sketch consultation service that OnePlan offer . Our guest en-suite is pretty much the same size as your loo 2.60m x 1.40m. It was built as a wet room with underfloor heating, but we added shower doors after a while, as the toilet (seat) would take a long time to dry after showering. I love the layout, it's simple and efficient. As for colours, my preference was for black tiles on the floor and red glazed tiles in the shower to complement, however hubby thought it would look too Gothic and we ended up with some safe 'swimming pool' glass mosaic. There's also a slim towel warmer behind the door, not visible in the photo. As your space is wider, I think you could create an alcove like in the Grosvenor Riverside pic. Hi Yasemin, I have added a very basic templated 3D model to give you the gist of how I’d lay out the space. Please take no notice of the styling, the templates are just what I had to hand on the computer. So I would use bench seating along the back wall for your dining table seating. This would allow you to push the table back further than you can with conventional chairs and thus keep traffic flow unrestricted through the space. There are a wide range of benches available these days from basic and beautiful wooden constructions (just add cushions if you wish), to sumptuous fully upholstered luxury pieces. There is also room for a sideboard for your tableware, you could create a beautiful sightline out of this by adorning it with table lamps and/or decorative accessories. Some wall art would be great here too. I wasn’t sure what the space was at the other end of the room (with glazed door), is this your main entrance? If it is you will need an outerwear storage facility of some sort. If its not a main traffic route then it could be a lovely space for a desk and study area. Good luck with your new apartment. L :)

Love the catflap in your internal door! I see what you mean about the door opposite the fireplace but it can be overcome. How many people do you need to seat? This style of room lends itself to a tv watching area maybe with an L shaped sofa and a supplementary armchair and the other end could be two armchairs with a bookshelf or sideboard against the right hand wall. If the door really bothers you, you could change it to sliding as there is room. You might have to move it up or down slightly. With nearly 5m across you should have room for the sofa and the door to open behind it.

I love that rocking chair too, but if your baby is crawling around and tries to pull himself up on the chair, or leans against it and it starts rocking, I foresee little feet or fingers under the rocker?

Beautiful room.

I think that this layout could work too. Would replace the sofa with toy storage
