How to swap new build LED downlights with a pendant light?
Comments (8)We removed 6 recessed spots from our breakfast room ceiling and replaced them with one central pendant light and it was the best thing ever! The lighting was always harsh even with trying all sorts of different bulbs and a dimmer but now it's transformed. We put off doing it for years as we thought it would be a major job and require re-plastering the ceiling but it was all done in less than 2 days. Our electrician did the wiring changes which didn't take him long and then the decorator patched the holes left by the recessed spots and used filler to blend them in. A coat of paint to the entire ceiling and you cannot see at all where the old lights were....See MoreWhite or silver led flush ceiling lights for kitchen diner?
Comments (9)Hi Claire, as Litecraft have already pointed out it does depend on what you are going to have in the rest of your kitchen but for me I would go with the Chrome option as think it will make your lights stand out more. If you want to go for something different to chrome there is also a satin nickel option too like this one which isn't as shiny as the chrome options like the one below. As there are quite a few different options you can have a look at our range by clicking this link: Downlights Also you didn't mention if you was having round or square lights so you can see the square options here as there are many available which you can also have as twin, triple of even quad options! Comments (7)The best lighting for bedrooms comes from using wall scones positioned on at least two opposite walls. This will give you the cosy, warm feel you are looking for. The scones should be placed at about 220 cm height. In this case I would locate two on both sides of the media unit, and one or two on the side of the bed. Keep the central ceiling light on a separate switch and use it only when you need lots of bright light. use a ceiling lamp and not a pendant. Scone. Comments (11)The use of LED tape is very versatile and relatively easy to incorporate into cabinetry, some top tips: - Think about where you locate your lighting driver as some tapes need to have this relatively local - Always place tape on the aluminium profile as this prolongs it's life and performance - Most will come with a diffuser that will eliminate 'spotting' of the individual LED and give a smooth light spread on the surface/wall - If you have a few lighting scenes then consider some lighting control like Lightwave...See More- 6 years ago
