Comments (6)Hi salonka, the width I need is 69cm and height approx 100cm (that's the height of the dado) depth doesn't really matter. I have found a few, but they all seem to be a few cm too big width wise and the height will then be about 80cm ( too small)I think I am going to have them custom made. Comments (51)Dear Azfar, I think your units are lovely, very sophisticated and much nicer than white. Your units and work tops are very similar to those I have in my kitchen, which also have black granite tops. I also have a wooden floor of a similar shade, please don't change this, it is lovely. I was aware when I had my kitchen fitted that the units appeared darker than in the showroom but this was due entirely to the colour of the walls they were installed on. To lift the units, and celebrate their beautiful colour, you should paint your walls a darker and contrasting colour, I have chosen a really shocking pink, Rock Candy, but there lots of options. The showroom I saw my units in used a burgundy colour, too dark for my Victorian kitchen. There are so many colour options which don't have to be expensive, play around with a few tester pots and see which you prefer. This is by far the cheapest option, and I'm sure you'll fall in love with your kitchen units again once your units are allowed to stand out. Incidentally your unit colour helps to visually integrate your stainless steel 'fridge, another reason to stick with it. Comments (17)Thanks Isidora. It's the discussion of the finer details which helps actually ! I think , having looked again in person, that the one larger D cup actually looks fine against the round knob...perhaps it is the 2 together which make the knob look a bit lost, as the eye sees so much metal on top then this small knob below. My partner also prefers the fancier D cup so I'm going to just fill the holes. You can only barely make out where the holes were on the big doors - you have to get up real close and scrutinize it, so I think my filling and sanding skills are actually pretty good. I was just trying to avoid more labour as the whole painting-the-cupboards was a bloody nightmare (I did them grey, didn't like it, so had to go around with white 3 times !) Comments (45)Just wanted to say that this is a very interesting discussion. @1111x you know your own tastes in decor and it’s well presented. Others will always have their own opinions. I think we’re polar opposites as i‘m nearly always living amongst clutter...mostly hubby’s computer and brewing equipment (drives me crazy) but so long as it’s clean and comfortable I’m happy. Do houses or people leave an energy or aura....no idea, but possibly as I’ve heard many circumstances of it. The feng shui thing I find interesting. From your photos I noticed a couple of things. By the dining table you have a small window but grand curtains that are sort of framing the radiator, kind of makes you focus on what is a bland (yet necessary) object. Then others have picked up on the mirrored tv cabinet, it’s a lovely cabinet but I’m not sure I’d want to be staring at my knobbly knees and ankles when I’m watching tv 🤣. No idea if things like that are feng shui faux pars, would be interesting to research further but by all means ignore me if you like things as they are. Good shout on the humidity, we tend to leave windows open upstairs throughout the day as we find it really helps with the airflow not to mention the heat from 3 computers running at full pelt every day. All the doors in my kitchen have pulls of the same size...even the tall pantry cabs.
To my mind, many of the large pulls I see on doors look ridiculous. Theyre just not necessary. Doors require almost no effort to open. Drawers hold heavy things, and require some ”pull” effort. They open easier with appropriate sized pulls. It’s physics, l think...something not for me to explain...definitely not my area of expertise. Definitely. Not!

6 years agoI did a variety of pulls. The smaller drawers and cabinet doors have 5 1/16 pulls while drawers of 36” and 42” wide have 6 1/4” center pulls. All pulls from same collection.
