App problems?.

What is happening to the Houzz App? Sometimes some of the text in comments is missing, and when I receive notifications by email when I click See Comment it takes me to the Home page, not the comment. Many times I don’t even get notifications and sometimes I do. Nothing to do with settings as problem in intermittent. Anyone else having issues before I report it?

Yes - as you have said and also when I reply to enquiries via Houzz message - I can’t send answers straight away - I have to close and re open the app before the message sends ! Crazy !!! I do wonder if they have anyone trying things to look for bugs before the relaunch stuff ?

The point about the text being missing in comments? I find if I flip my ipad orientation the other way, I am able to see the missing sections! It’s as though the formatting has only been considered for one orientation.

I am a designer at United Tile in Portland Oregon. I am trying to include the Houzz app on our Apple TV in our design showroom. It crashes every time you try to open it. I have deleted & installed it many, many times. It works fine on my PC, but my phone, ipad, or Apple TV. Everyone I talk to has the same problem.

I'm not much of a geek, but it sounds to me like your computer or tablet is the problem, not the apps. I've used the Dulux app last week for my cinema room, it worked like a dream..... Try and load smaller sized photos, free some memory.... idk....

I buy one or two cookbooks every year for inspiration (last one was Jamie's Everyday Super Food), but only keep hold of a few old favourites or speciality books, so my cookbook shelf is quite modest. Over the past 5 years I've gone digital and all my favourite recipes, whether they came from cookbooks or magazine clippings originally, are hunted down online to copy into Evernote. Handily, several of the big-name cooks publish their popular recipes on their own websites. This way I've got a bespoke cookbook of my favourite recipes, annotated with my own tweaks, which can be used on a smartphone for ingredient shopping, or an an iPad while cooking. I do find it really satisfying flipping through a new cookbook and tagging the pages of recipes I want to try, so I'll keep buying the cookbooks as well as using online resources.

Hi Kazza, Sorry to hear you are still having issues. Have you downloaded the latest version of Houzz? The most recent version is 17.1.1 Also, have you tried opening the Houzz app when you are connected to a different wifi network? Perhaps at work or a friend's house? The mobile engineers have said it could be to do with your connection, so if you try a different internet connection it could pinpoint the problem. Thank you.

Not just me then. It seems every time they do an update it causes knock on effects, rather like Apple updates! I shall try flipping the iPad orientation Marylee. I’ll have to report it but I can’t even find a Contact button so I’ll email them. Thanks guys.

It’s been doing it for some time so I gave up using the app a while ago. It was frustrating not been able to see full comments. Never thought to flip the orientation, will try it out.

It certainly appears to be working on the US version. I hope they will do away with it.

It pops up now and then E D, totally pointless. We want an App that works! I emailed them and it’s unmanned at the moment and support website was no help as it just listed problems you click on, so we are stuck with it for now. 😤

Except that the notification emails take you to the App grrrr! Yes website is much better.

I ignore the emailed notifications (indeed, I may have switched them off).

On the site’s version you can click on your own avatar to find all recent notifications. They take you to the site’s relevant thread or post.

Yes, email notifications still take me to the home page rather than the thread. Also pictures don’t always load on the app - though this seems intermittent.

Can I please ask whether you can see my comment on this link? I can see it but Houzz doesn’t show the thread as being updated recently and it also shows as having 5 comments whereas mine is the 6th...

I’ve been having fun and games with Houzz for weeks hence the question

I thought the issues were resolved when I had to buy a new iPad but clearly not 😡

I think the App is pretty crappy. I mean you can’t Edit or Delete........what’s that all about? 🤪

I don’t like the app so just use the browser but for 3 weeks I couldn’t post anything under the advice section (a comment box wouldn’t even appear) but I could under the stories section?! Roll on another 2 weeks and a new ipad and I can post but only some of those comments appear! I think I need to find a new interest 😂

Totally agree Sonia - not being able to edit, delete and it takes you round in circles. My app is full of stuff I want to remove - I don’t need a copy of something I commented on ages ago
