Just be aware that putting a mirror in your garden may lead to some sad and confused bird behaviour as they see their image and try to fight it as they are territorial, so you may create a wildlife hazard. An alternative to mirror is stainless steel sheet which has good light reflective qualities but won't have birds attacking it.

Some kind of terrace roof will allow you to use the space through more of the year. Sounds nice! An idea (to avoid hot rooms caused by sun) which was on the BBC programme 'Your Home Made Perfect', was to have windows installed like air-traffic control towers - where the glass is angled. The bottom of the pane is closer to you then the top. Am guessing that would not be too difficult to do, and apparently it works a treat - which is why airport towers have this design, as they need to avoid unnecessary heat and glare. Good luck.

Are you planning on doing much work or are you working to a budget ? I would plasterboard over the white bricks and paint to give a cleaner finish. The brick doesn't match with the stone on the wall. (very stunning wall though !) Upgrade the lighting - use spotlights and mix with modernised pendants. Go for lighter and warmer colour sofas. Removing the ceiling panelling would also brighten by not drawing the eye up to ceiling. Maybe also add some feature wall lights or floating shelves either side of the TV. Add some greenery for a refreshing feel. If you put the lighting controls on different switches you can control which ones you have on at what times of day. Bit of a shot in the dark but what is behind the TV wall ? If its an exterior wall could you knock though to outside and put windows in ? Its probably a shock to the system now that youve put your extension on but you'll get there.
